Yamago Togyo – a one hundred
year old Japanese manufacturer of fine porcelain
retail and commercial blanks – established
Heartland China, Kansas in 1995 to design, decorate,
and distribute their products throughout the United
States. In 2005, we moved into our new 20,000 square
foot climate controlled factory in Northeast Topeka.
We stock a wide range of sizes and shapes in undecorated
blanks and glassware - plates, platters, bowls, cups,
saucers, shakers, mugs, etc. – both in retail
and commercial grades.
After assessing your general requirements, our artists
and staff suggest specific designs and decorations
for your evaluation and approval. If current logo,
pictures or other artwork is already available, this
will be very helpful in our design process.
Following your decision to purchase, the printed
artwork is applied by highly skilled individual “decalers”.
After detailed inspection, the decorated pieces are
fired in a conveyor or shuttle kiln operating at
temperatures up to 1600 degrees, where the design
colors and images are baked into the exterior glazed
enamel. A rigid final inspection precedes special
marking, individual boxing, master packaging, palletizing,
and shipping.
You are invited to a plant visit – we are
one hour west of the Kansas City, Missouri airport – to
witness this exacting design and decorating process.
It will be an interesting, educational, and enjoyable
experience for you.
